When it comes to hotels, we love a good luxury hotel stay, but since we are still working within a budget, we look for the best value and prioritize location over amenities. We tend to enjoy staying at boutique or historic hotels that offer a lot of character in a prime location. These tend to be smaller properties over big, sprawling resorts or all-inclusives, so you may pick up on that inherent bias in our reviews.

And while we love the comforts and amenities of a Four Seasons or Kempinski, on road trips you will often find as at a Courtyard by Marriott or Hilton Garden Inn. When traveling in Europe, we also like to rent apartments via Airbnb or Vrbo to have more space for less money. This also allows us to “live like a local.”

And while you will probably never find us tent camping or RVing, we have recently discovered the fun of glamping.
